ILC Demonstrates in Atlanta for a Five Day Weekend

Royal Commissioner of Leisure Science Tim Franzen encourages Tuesday afternoon commuters to take a Five Day Weekend
On Tuesday, July 31, 2007, the United States Chapter of the International Leisure Club demonstrated at the intersection of Freedom Parkway and Boulevard in Downtown Atlanta in support of the Five Day Weekend Movement.

ILC Members encouraged Tuesday afternoon commuters returing from work to "Start Your Weekend Now" in order to experience a Five Day Weekend. The Demonstration was complete with tiki umbrellas, beach chairs, a kiddie pool and hammock.

The International Leisure Club believes that for too long Americans have marveled over innovative creations that are designed to make our lives easier. We say it's time we start experiencing the ease modern technology has been promising all along.

The fact is Americans have increasingly worked more days a year since World War II! We have also seen a decline in the average income of middle class Americans. So we're working more and getting less. This is a trend that will continue unless we do something.

That's why we at the International Leisure Club Have decided to lend our full support to the movement to give American workers a 5 day weekend. That's rights, seems like a lot to ask for doesn't it? If the powers that be don't give it to us, well, we might just take it anyway!
